That's right here's another Ride to Skate for all you guys to find a cheap excuse to miss. I'll be there for the 4th time enjoying awesome tacos and coffee, watching pro skaters rip the park up with no hype, and checking out the best custom bikes in the area. And get this, the bike owners actually ride them! If you miss this one you're just dumb.

I make these up once in a while for the local tattoo guys. The heavy base is sand or lead filled. It raises and lowers smoothly and easily. The top pivots 180 degrees and it swivels 360 degrees too. The wide base fits around those fancy barber chairs so the customer and the artist can be totally comfy.

Did this Evo Sportster hardtail yesterday. It's a Leadsled Customs tail section. Looks like it's gonna make for a nice bike. Just got to get the front shortened up a bit.

Here's a 1955 BSA factory dirt track frame we were asked to restore. you will see there was a few pieces missing. We bent new rails, pressed in an oil pump loop, fabricated all the motor mounts, seat mount, seat post pieces, and repaired a bunch of little spots too. Quite a difference.

Headlamp bracket

I was given a design to build a triumph headlamp bracket. Some machine work and welding and this is the result. I think it's pretty cool. Once it's topped off with the vintage Unity spot light I think it will be just freakin' awesome.

Been working on this one for a while. There's something about this bike that makes me think it likes it here. No matter how many times I try to make progress it just seems like it moves backwards. Hoping that posting about it wakes it up a bit and it finishes itself. HAHA. Anyway, paint is by Ryzart. Can you dig it?

Just a simple die I machined for a customer to flare some exhaust pipes. Mild steel 45 degree angle. Needs to be hardened still but it should serve well.

Ok, not a feature. Ok, not even a 1/4 page pic. Just an honorable mention in the Amateur chop-off article on page 68. I did the hardtail section and some stainless steel wheel spacers for builder Alex Pedroso. He was kind enough to mention 47 Industries as being involved. Thanks Alex.

This is a shot of my friend Wayne enjoying a day on the (not so) high seas in his sail boat. Wayne has taught me so much about welding and fabrication over the years. I hope anything I make could be 1/2 as good as his stuff. Looks like fun doesn't it? Arrrgghh!!

I just got pissed off at the gas station. Why do the lazy gas pumpers insist on going to the passenger side window? I know the answer is laziness but wtf? I pumped gas for years and was taught to go to the window where the fucking driver is. I worked retail jobs for other stores too and was always told I was there to serve the customer and give them the best service I could. This is something that I have always held in the highest regard wether it's my shop or I am working for someone else.

My car was off, driver's window down and this guy opens the passenger door instead of walking around to my window. The part that really got me was I said something to the guy, fairly nicely, and he walked away without taking the money. When I questioned that he turned his back and went away. No apology, not even a "cut me a break" or a weak excuse. Maybe I should have taken off with free gas! I went in to the boss and said something cause I thought maybe he would want to be a better business and he looked to care even less. My intention was not to get the guy in trouble. It was to help improve the service of one of the last private shops/gas stations in the area in the hopes that it will be able to stay in business when there is cheaper gas 1/2 mile away on the highway. I even mentioned to him that I worked that job and knew guys that worked for him years back and that he taught them the right way to do the job and about service. He didn't seem to care a bit. He didn't even offer a crappy statement like "I'm sorry you had a bad experience but.....". No "I hope you'll give us another shot and continue to spend your cash here". Nothing. He just defended the guy. I left the cash on the counter and left. I guess my only outlet is here on my blog. Well that and when someone asks why I give my cash to the "towel heads" at Lukoil instead of to this guy, I can tell this story of how the small business owner is putting himself out of business.

47 Industries will now try even harder to satisfy our customers. Thanks to the guys at that gas station. I need to stay in business.

This is out of my chevy project build. I sold the car before I finished it and I kept the engine. It's a fresh rebuild with 0 miles. You can call for details but it's a mild cam and the Tuned Port Injection can be replaced with a standard intake and a carb. $1000 takes the motor without the injection. $1300 with it and the computer and a crate of related parts. 1983 Ironhead. 1000 CC engine. Good strong running engine. S&S super e carb. Raked frame. Just hardtailed with 4" stretch in the rear section. We did the tail here. All tig welded. Has lots of work done already. Battery tray is done. Fender mounts are on. Just need to set the fender where you want it. Rear fender included. No seat but the rear spring mounts are on for it already. No oil tank. King sporty tank already mounted. dual disc 35mm front end with working brakes. Rear caliper, forward controls and master cyl. all included. 2 into 1 exhaust too. Asking $1850. Clean PA title. Call. 908-725-4389. ****SOLD*****

I made this top clamp from a chunk of 1" thick steel today for an old 18" over length springer front end. This particular company made theirs a slight bit different than some others so the top clamp wasn't something you could buy. It had to be a one off special part. While I was at it I put a threaded slug in the rear leg tops to clean up the overall appearance from the original pinch bolts. All in all it looks pretty bitchin'.

Just finished another shovelhead hardtail frame. No 2 bikes are the same and this was no exception. I did a shovel a few weeks ago and the 2 were similar but completely different at the same time. Ground clearance, wheel and tire sizes, and front end lengths vary from bike to bike so it is really important to get a plan and stick to it. Seems like easy advice to follow, right?

Vaughn's OIF Triumph

A few months back we did a couple OIF triumph hardtails. He's been moving right along since he got his frame back and sent me a couple pix of his progress. The bike is looking great so far! I can't wait to see it finished. I guess he'll be tearing up Vancouver BC, Canada really soon. Look for this menacing machine to be ripping your 'hood apart next season.
